Lobes, Cartilage, Eyebrow, Nose, and Septum Piercings:
-
Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing(s) or the surrounding area.
-
Clean your piercing(s) two times per day.
-
Clean off all debris/dry matter from your jewelry and piercing site with purified water and a Q-tip. Always remember to use a different Q-tip for each side of your piercing to avoid cross-contamination. After removing all dry matter, wash your piercing with a sterile saline solution. Once you have washed your piercing with the saline solution, rinse the piercing off with purified water and dry it very well with a Q-tip.
-
Remember your piercing is best when it is left alone, kept clean and dry and given as much air as possible.
-
It is not necessary to rotate your piercing(s); if you feel that it must be rotated, only do so with clean hands, and make sure the jewelry is cleaned of all dry matter first to ensure you are not irritating the piercing(s).
Oral Piercings:

Navel (Bellybutton) and Nipples Nightly Cleanings/Soaks:
-
Always remember to wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing(s) or the surrounding area.
-
Clean off all dry matter from your jewelry and piercing site with purified water.
-
Warm up some saline solution and put it into a glass (i.e., shot glass). Put the glass around your piercing(s) and create a suction between the glass and your skin, lay back, and let the saline soak on your nipple piercing(s) for 20 minutes. For navel piercings, repeat this process twice with a clean glass, for a total of 40 minutes soaking time. If you are finding that after the 20-minute soaks your nipple piercings are still feeling irritated, we recommend repeating this process with clean glasses, totaling 40 minutes of soaking.
-
Rinse the saline off your piercings with purified water and Q-tips.
-
Dry the piercing(s) very well with Q-Tips.
DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIERCING(S) BETWEEN CLEANINGS!
What Is Normal:
Initially there will be some bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising.
During the healing process, there will be some discoloration, minor itching, and a secretion of a whitish-yellow lymph discharge that will form; this is completely normal.
Piercings may seem healed before the healing process is complete. This is because tissue heals from the outside in, and although it may feel and look healed, the interior remains fragile. Be patient and keep cleaning throughout the entire healing period. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!
Even healed piercings can shrink or close in a matter of minutes, even after years of having them!
Please note that cartilage piercings are avascular, meaning that they don’t have a direct blood supply. This means that cartilage piercings can take longer to heal. Just because your piercing(s) looks fully healed does not mean that it is! Always double-check with a professional piercer before downsizing, switching, or taking out your jewelry.
What To Avoid:
-
Avoid touching your piercing(s) except for when cleaning it.
-
Avoid moving the jewelry in an unhealed piercing or picking at dry matter.
-
Avoid cleaning your piercings with rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, Bactine or any soaps containing dyes or perfumes.
-
Avoid overcleaning your piercing(s). This can delay healing and irritate your piercing(s).
-
Avoid all oral contact, rough play, and contact with other bodily fluids on or near your piercing while healing.
-
Avoid excessive caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, and recreational drugs.
-
Avoid submerging your piercing in any bodies of water (i.e., hot tubs, pools, lakes, rivers, etc.).
-
Avoid hot springs and steam rooms.
-
Avoid all beauty and personal care products on or around the piercing, including cosmetics, lotions, sprays, etc.
-
Avoid hanging any charms and/or objects from your jewelry until your piercing is fully healed.
-
Avoid getting pet hair on or near the piercing.
-
Avoid clothing, bedding, or fabric that can snag your piercing.
-
Avoid snagging, tugging, or irritating your piercing.
Keloids:
Keloids or hypertrophic scars usually appear as a red bump beside the entrance of the piercing. Normally they are caused by agitation (i.e., bumping, snagging, twisting, spinning, makeup, hair spray, sleeping on it, etc.). By avoiding agitation and doing your regular saline cleanings, the bump should go away naturally. If you have done your regular cleanings and avoided snagging but the bump is still present after a week, please give us a call at (250)-306-7038 or message us via email, Facebook, or Instagram.
